My grandmother wore an apron much like this one and every year, after I learned to sew in 4-H, I was expected to make her an apron. It was almost as much work as making a dress.
Both of my grandmothers also often wore aprons. Making an apron sounds like a major project. I hope that it turned out well.

It’s fun how well-designed aprons were sometimes part of the overall look back then.
