I think it’d been a good idea to be in the button business back then, very lucrative…lot’s of buttons on EVERYTHING. It’d be especially tricky if you had arthritis or something. I guess not too many ladies would have lived alone back then, so maybe someone could help with all the buttons.
Sheryl you’re so smart, I never thought of that. I thought I’d Google. I guess (according to Wikipedia) around 1913 a guy from Ontario (go figure) made the first modern zipper….poor button companies, oh well they had a good run HA

I don’t think they’d invented zippers yet back then–so they had to go with buttons and more buttons.
