Oh WOW! So beautiful. Would you believe that when my mother was a kid in the late 1920s, she got involved in correspondence with some stranger from faraway lands and did an exchange for two ostrich feathers. I still have them!
Wow, what a fun, amazing story! And, the fact that you still have the feathers makes it even more special. I never thought about it until this moment, but I guess that pen pals of that era were in some ways similar to getting to know other bloggers in distant places today.
I hadn’t thought about the pen pal/blogger association until now either! How true!
